Government Crackdown if you enter the 'No Call' zone |

The press has recently been pushing stories out about a need to punish calling companies who persistently disregard preference lists, the Telephone Preference List in particular.
What's being talked about is a change to legislation which removes the need to prove that a caller has suffered harm or financial loss. If this does take place it removes a key hurdle which currently inhibits legal action. Many more companies would then be on the radar of enforcement action and we would hear of fines with much more regularity.
Whatever your view on the legal situation, pragmatism suggests that contacting people who have said they don't want to be contacted is likely to be a waste of time at best. Do you really want to incur a fine, or at the very least reputational damage by having to apologise to someone you have called, and or deal with a formal complaint from the Information Commissioners Office. Using a poor list can also sap the morale of your telesales team, after all if they know that their list is not safe to use they will hold their apology ready when they should have your product details ready to go. |

Richard with ex F1 driver Tiff Needell. |

This year Corpdata are also helping a young local racing driver excel in his first season in Historic Formula Ford.
Exeter based Richard Mitchell has made a cracking start to his first season. After qualifying in pole position two after posting the second fastest qualifying lap.

The race was packed with excitement some of which Richard wouldn't wish to repeat. After spinning out in a chicane Richard found himself trailing in seventeenth place but not for long.
After really going for it and overtaking twelve cars Richard finished fifth one place behind Tiff Needell the former F1 driver and host of Channel 5's Fifth Gear. Not bad for his first competitive race.
The second race saw Richard starting in his first race finishing position, 5th and after a tight bit of excellent driving saw him finish second.
Tiff has already spotted Richard, and in a pre-race tweet Richard said: Very excited to be racing at Thruxton today in the HSCC Historic Formula Ford! Managed P2 in quali and can't wait to go against @tiff_tv
Tiff replied: @RichMitchRacing Well you'd better slow down a bit to let me catch up!!
Richard just couldn't help himself: @tiff_tv I will try, I won't mention it is my first time at Thruxton :), but am honoured to be racing with you as I am a big fan
After the rubber cooled the motor press seemed to clock Richard as a future 'big star'. Historic Racing News wrote: Another rising young star shone through in the pair of races for the Historic Formula Ford Championship. Back in the family Merlyn Mk20 after the car's major rebuild was Ben Mitchell and he won both races in fine style as battles raged all down the order. Max Bartell and local hero Tiff Needell battled hard in Mitchell's wake, but the big star of Sunday's race was novice racer Richard Mitchell who finished a very impressive second overall to Mitchell after a fine battle with Bartell, Needell and Simon Toyne. Needell pipped Toyne by a thousandth of a second as four cars crossed the line in the space of three-tenths of a second.
