The Coronavirus (Covid 19) has really put a spanner in the works with regards to how we go about our daily business, both in our personal and professional lives. We’re all unsettled about what’s happening in our communities, both economically and socially.
In a business context, we’re having to adapt to digital meetings as opposed to face to face. Events and exhibitions are cancelled and we’re not even able to go in to the office. No one is certain how long this situation will continue. But one thing is for sure – we’re all in this together.
It’s incredibly important to remain sensitive at this time, but it’s also vital for businesses to persevere with lead generation, where possible. The need for a healthy pipeline will be more important than ever, once this has passed.
Contact, without the contact
Your prospects will more than likely be working from home in the upcoming weeks/months but they will still have access to their email and most direct dials, will be redirected to a mobile number.
There is a real opportunity to start new conversations. It’s very likely that your prospects will have more time in their diaries and will be much more able and willing to engage with you than usual.

1. Stick to your usual routine
Set your alarm and get out of bed. Follow your usual routine, as you would when going in to the office. Just skip the commute!
2. Find a space where you won’t be distracted
Leave the washing up and the laundry. Don’t be tempted to tune in to Netflix. However, Netflix may come in handy if the kids are off school too... Good luck with that!
3. Take regular breaks
Aim to take a short break, every 90 minutes or so. No screens. Get up and move away from your work space.
4. Go outside on your lunch break
Just as when you’re working form the office, a change of scenery is good for your sanity. A simple brisk walk can make a huge difference to your perspective and productivity.
5. Avoid total isolation
Stay connected with your colleagues. Use email, Skype, FaceTime etc. They’ll be missing you too!
