Happy New Year from Corpdata

The Chinese horoscope calls 2018 the Year of the Dog, even though it doesn't start until the 16th of February. How do you think of 2018? There are a number of possibilities, the year a Brexit trade deal is agreed, or perhaps the year England win the World Cup again.

For direct marketers, it is likely to be the year of GDPR. On the radar since 2016, GDPR finally comes into force on the 25th May 2018. According to those who know, many organisations are still working to meet the requirements of the new law.

Almost two years ago we at Corpdata reworked all of our approach, systems and licensing to be fully compliant with GDPR. Two years may seem extravagant, but we needed to start then to enable us to telephone research our UK B2B contact list data. Here is a video describing the changes we have made.

So you can be confident when using Corpdata UK B2B contact data. Confident you will get great results from your direct marketing, and confident you will be complying with the law.

Not all list owners are equal

You might be surprised to learn many list owners have not prepared either, and in the GDPR world where you have to prove you comply with the law, this leaves you very exposed. Do your due diligence on prospective data suppliers. Here is a list of some questions you should be asking to cover yourself.

In a November blog we also talked about how third party lists will almost never be usable on the basis of consent, no matter what the list owner tells you!
